Privacy policy

Host Outside is a sole proprietorship based in California. This policy explains what we collect on hostoutside.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Questions go to hello@hostoutside.com.

What we collect

• What you send us. When you use the contact form or email us: your name, email address, brand website, what you sell and your message. When you book a call through Cal.com: the details you enter there, such as your name, email, time zone and notes.
• Analytics. Unless your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: pages viewed, how you arrived, your device and browser type, and approximate location (country or city, derived from your IP address). Google Analytics sets cookies to tell visits apart. We keep Google signals and ad personalization turned off.
• Security and delivery data. Our host, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as IP addresses and browser details to deliver the site and block abuse. When spam protection is on for the contact form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, not a bot, is submitting it.
• People we film. For people who appear in our videos: the footage and the consent they give on camera. See “People in our videos” below.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and this site is not directed to them.

How we use it

• To reply to you and provide the services you ask for.
• To understand which pages are useful and fix what is not.
• To keep the site and the contact form secure and free of spam.
• To meet legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run the site and the business, and only for those purposes: Cloudflare (hosting, security and email routing), Google (analytics), Cal.com (booking) and, when you pay us, our payment processor. We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect our rights.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

Cookies and privacy signals

Google Analytics uses first-party cookies (named _ga and similar). If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we do not load Google Analytics at all. You can also block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s opt-out add-on.

How long we keep it

• Messages and emails: as long as we need them to handle your inquiry and any work together.
• Analytics data: up to 14 months in Google Analytics.
• Footage: kept as part of our production records, as described in our terms.

People in our videos

We film members of the public openly, with visible cameras. Everyone who appears in a finished video agrees on camera to the use of their likeness, voice and words in the ads we make. That consent does not cover using anyone’s likeness to train or generate AI content. If you appeared in one of our videos and have a question or a request, email hello@hostoutside.com.

Your choices

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@hostoutside.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Security

We use established providers and limit who can access the information we hold. No way of sending or storing data is completely secure.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page.
